Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.67.72

मातृमानप्रमेयाणि न चिन्मात्रेतरद्यतः ।
ततो द्वैतैक्यवादार्थः शशशृङ्गाज्जिनीसमः ॥ ७२ ॥

mātṛmānaprameyāṇi na cinmātretaradyataḥ |
tato dvaitaikyavādārthaḥ śaśaśṛṅgājjinīsamaḥ || 72 ||

The notions of the measurer, measure and measurable, are not separate from the intellect (or mind); therefore the controversy of unity and duality, is as futile as the horns of a hare or a lake of lotuses in the air.
