Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of verse 3.14.74:

शब्दा यथा विभज्यन्ते भागैरिव विकल्पितैः ।
अन्वाख्येयास्तथा शास्त्रमतिदूरे व्यवस्थितम् ॥ ७४ ॥

śabdā yathā vibhajyante bhāgairiva vikalpitaiḥ |
anvākhyeyāstathā śāstramatidūre vyavasthitam || 74 ||

74. In whatever way words are divided into apparent parts according to one’s choice, so they arc grammatically derived. The śāstra is really far from the reality.

Commentary

[The division of words is only for the sake of grammatical derivation. The word is really indivisible. There are different ways of splitting the same word. There is no fixity about it. Different systems of grammar may do it differently. The result is that the Science of Grammar is very far from the reality.]
