Sanskrit text and transliteration:
द्रविणं धनमित्याहुरिह त्वात्मावबोधनम् ।
सवर्चसं सुदीप्तं स्यान्मोक्षामृतफलप्रदम् ॥ १५७ ॥
draviṇaṃ dhanamityāhuriha tvātmāvabodhanam |
savarcasaṃ sudīptaṃ syānmokṣāmṛtaphalapradam || 157 ||
English translation of verse 1.157:
Draviṇa [draviṇam], it is said, means wealth. But it means here the knowledge of the Self. It is savarcasam which means effulgent; it gives the immortal fruit of liberation.
Notes:
Wealth is of two kinds, human and divine. While gold, jewel, etc., constitute human wealth, Brahman-knowledge is divine wealth. Brahman-knowledge is effulgent inasmuch as it reveals the reality of the Self (ātmatattva-prakāśakatvāt).
