यद् वास्तु क्षत्रियाणां तु
बाल एतादृशो यथा
बलभद्रे न दोषः स्याच्
चन्द्र-वंश-समुद्भवे

yad vāstu kṣatriyāṇāṃ tu
bāla etādṛśo yathā
balabhadre na doṣaḥ syāc
candra-vaṃśa-samudbhave

yat—what; vā—or; astumay be; kṣatriyāṇām—of the kṣatriyas; tu—indeed; bālaboy; etādṛśaḥ—like this; yathā—as; balabhadre—for Balarāma; na—not; doṣaḥ—a fault; syāc—is; candra-vaṃśa-samudbhave—born in the ksatriya dynasty of the moon-god.

English translation of verse 3.5.6:

This boy is like a kṣatriya. For Balarāma a kṣatriya's nature is not unexpected.

He was born in a kṣatriya family descended from the moon-god.
