A dancing girl holding Camarams in her hands standing in a seductive posture with right leg raised back and kept on the wall. The left leg is straight and unbent, left Uru is in Stambhana, left Janu is in Sama, left Jangha is unbent and left Pada is in Sama. Right Janu is in Sama, right Jangha is unbent.She is has a huge hair bun and her dance costume is tight figure hugging similar to that shown in movies. It shows that we borrow postures and costumes from the sculptures. Both her hands are in Katakamukha.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning). These photographs depict the connection between the sculptures in the temples and Natya Shastra and related texts dealing with iconography.
