The other side of the river there is a country named Pi-t’u. The law of Buddha is very flourishing; they belong both to the Great and Little Vehicle. When they saw pilgrims from China arrive, they were much affected and spoke thus, “How is it that men from the frontiers are able to know the religion of family-renunciation and come from far to seek the law of Buddha?” They liberally provided necessary entertainment according to the rules of religion.
