That goddess represents the generative organ of Sati, Shiva’s first wife, which fell down as Shiva was carrying her dead body. Kamakshi in this chapter is the famous goddess of Kanci near Madras. As Ka (goddess Sarasvati) and Ma (goddess Lakshmi) were produced from her eyes (Akshi) she is called Kamakshi (vv.67-74)....
