Mesopotamian Portal
Widely considered to be the cradle of civilization, Bronze Age Mesopotamia included Sumer and the Akkadian, Babylonian and Assyrian empires. Mesopotamia housed some of the world's most ancient highly developed and socially complex states. Libraries were extant in towns and temples during the Babylonian Empire. Many Babylonian literary works are still studied today.
