This page describes Invocation which is the first part of chapter II of the English translation of the Shri Aranatha-caritra, contained within the “Trishashti Shalaka Purusha Caritra”: a massive Jain narrative relgious text composed by Hemacandra in the 12th century. Shri Aranatha in jainism is one of the 63 illustrious beings or worthy persons.

May the Lord Jina Ara, the tilaka of the Ikṣvāku family, who is the beautiful color of gorocanā,[1] the haṃsa in the pool of the fourth division of time, grant protection I shall relate the brilliant life of the holy Lord Jina Ara, a moon for the delight of the night-blooming lotus of the three worlds, supreme lord.
