Verse 8.14 - The maximum duration of the first three types of karmas

आदितस्तिसृणामन्तरायस्य च त्रिंशत्सागरोपमकोटीकोट्यः परा स्थितिः ॥ ८.१४ ॥
āditastisṛṇāmantarāyasya ca triṃśatsāgaropamakoṭīkoṭyaḥ parā sthitiḥ || 8.14 ||
The maximum duration–utkṛṣṭa sthiti–of the first three types of karmas, i.e., knowledge-covering (jñānāvaraṇa), perception-covering (darśanāvaraṇa) and feeling-producing (vedanīya), and of the obstructive (antarāya) karma is thirty sāgaropama koṭākoṭi. (14)

Explanation in English from Ācārya Pūjyapāda’s Sarvārthasiddhi:
The divisions of nature-bondage–prakṛtibandha–have been explained. Now the kinds of duration-bondage–sthitibandha–have to be described. Duration (sthiti) is of two kinds, the maximum (utkṛṣṭa) and the minimum (jaghanya). Certain kinds of karmas have the same maximum (utkṛṣṭa) duration. These are mentioned first.
It is mentioned ‘from the first’ in order to indicate that the three should not be taken from the middle or from the end. ‘Obstructive’ is mentioned in order to include that which is separated. ‘Sāgaropama’ is the duration or period of time indicated already. ‘Koṭi’ multiplied by ‘koṭi’ is koṭākoṭi. The word ‘parā’ means the maximum. The purport is this. The maximum duration–utkṛṣṭa sthiti–of knowledge-covering (jñānāvaraṇa), perception-covering (darśanāvaraṇa), feeling-producing (vedanīya), and obstructive (antarāya) karmas is thirty sāgaropama koṭākoṭi. In whom does it occur? The bondage of karmas with the maximum duration occurs in case of the wrong-believer (mithyādṛṣṭi) who is endowed with the five senses and the mind–saṃjñī pañcendriya–and who has attained completion–paryāptaka.
