Panguni Uttitram (March-April)

During the month of Panguni, on the auspicious day of Uttiram, the festival is observed in the Adavalleswarar temple for ten days. This festival is celebrated to commemorate the completion of penance by Siva and Parvati, their marriage, the destruction of Manmata, and the resurrection by Siva of Manmata at the request of his wife Rati. This festival is celebrated on a grand manner in the Siva temples of Tamilnadu including Adavalleswarar temple, Munnur.
