Ah! Now my Life a fathomless
Ocean of interminable nothingness.
In self-pity to wallow forever;
Why me? I plead for a deep insight,
For Deliverance from unending Night.
Disillusions, Darkness, Despair;
With these am I enshrouded,
With not the faintest hope to repair
My Ravaged being. So clouded
These skies, that I see no trace,
No hint of resplendent rainbow.
I implore my God for inner grace,
So might I step safely ashore.
