Greetings from a Visionary

M. Ramakrishna Rao

Wish you all the Happiness
and a host of hearty joys,
Fulfilment of lofty aims
and desires of your choice;
If healthy seeds are sown in time
the plants will grow so fine,
For lovely flowers to sprightly spring
and delicious fruits to bring;
The Sun-god sprinkles priceless rubies.
and the Moon silver Yields,
The humble farmer happily harvests.
the rich golden fields;
The cowherd tends his countless cattle
in shady verdant vales,
‘Milk and honey’ literally flowing
the country then regales;
The koel sings its mirthful songs
surely on the morrow,
Let us light the brightening candles
and banish all the sorrow;
Nights and days will keep on rolling
life is also fleeting,
Let us make this a memorable year
with kindness, goodwill and cheer!
–M. RAMAKRISHNA RAO
