The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.21.44

वृक्षनीरन्ध्रभूपीठमकल्पितमहार्णवम् ।
स्वयसंजातपुरुषं कंचित्सर्गं स्मराम्यहम् ॥ ४४ ॥

vṛkṣanīrandhrabhūpīṭhamakalpitamahārṇavam |
svayasaṃjātapuruṣaṃ kaṃcitsargaṃ smarāmyaham || 44 ||

When the surface of the earth presented the sight of one great sheet of water (after the deluge), and entirely devoid of any vegetable produce upon it; and when men were produced without cohabitation of man and woman, I remember that time also.
