The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.44.10

स एवाशु भवत्येतन्मृत्पिण्डो घटकोपमः ।
आदिसर्गे पुरा कायः प्रतिभासोऽस्य चोत्तमः ॥ १० ॥

sa evāśu bhavatyetanmṛtpiṇḍo ghaṭakopamaḥ |
ādisarge purā kāyaḥ pratibhāso'sya cottamaḥ || 10 ||

The same thought assumes a visible form, as the clay takes the form of a pot; and the good thoughts and actions of the prior state of life, serve to give the soul a goodly form in its next birth on earth.
