Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of verse 2.236:
उत्प्रेक्षते सावयवं परमाणुमपण्डितः ।
तथावयविनं युक्तमन्यैरवयवैः पुनः ॥ २३६ ॥utprekṣate sāvayavaṃ paramāṇumapaṇḍitaḥ |
tathāvayavinaṃ yuktamanyairavayavaiḥ punaḥ || 236 ||236. The ignorant person sees parts in the primordial atom. Likewise, he sees its parts also as wholes endowed with parts.
Commentary
[The Vṛtti points out that, due to our experience of all objects as having parts, some think of the atom also as having parts and indulge in discussions as to whether an atom is connected with objects through one of its parts or through all its parts: paramāṇur ekadeśena vā sambadhyete, sarvātmanā veti.]
