Chapter 18 - Hands denoting Nine Planets

Hands that indicate the Nine Planets (nava graha).

Sūrya: Solapadma and Kapittha hands held on the shoulders.

Candra: left hand Solapadma, right hand Patāka.

Aṅgārakha: left hand Sūci, right hand Muṣṭi.

Budha: left hand Muṣṭi askew, right hand Patāka.

Bṛhaspati: Śikhara with both hands, as if holding the sacred thread.

Śukra: Muṣṭi with both hands, the left raised, the right downwards.

Śanaiscara: left hand Sarpa-śīrṣa, right hand Triśūla.

Rahu: left hand Sarpa-śīrṣa, right hand Sūci.

Ketu: left hand Sūci, right hand Ardha-patāka.
