Sanskrit text and transliteration:
य एते शतमानन्दा मानुषाणां समाहृताः ।
नरगन्धर्वकाणां स्यात्तावानेकः प्रमाणतः ॥ ५०१ ॥
ya ete śatamānandā mānuṣāṇāṃ samāhṛtāḥ |
naragandharvakāṇāṃ syāttāvānekaḥ pramāṇataḥ || 501 ||
English translation of verse 2.501:
One hundred such units of human bliss put together make one unit (of bliss) which human fairies possess.
Notes:
This verse explains the śruti text te ye śataṃ mānuṣā ānandāḥ and also the next one.
Manuṣya-gandharva means a human fairy. Human fairies are those human beings who become gandharvas through the performance of karma and upāsanā of a special sort (manuṣyāḥ santaḥ karma-vidyā viśeṣādgandharvatvaṃ prāptāḥ manuṣyagandharvāḥ). The happiness which they enjoy is a hundred times superior to the highest human happiness.
