Sanskrit text and transliteration:
विद्यासंशीलिनां यस्माद् गर्भजन्माद्यशेषतः ।
उपमृद्नाति विद्येयं तस्मादुपनिषद् भवेत् ॥ ३५ ॥
vidyāsaṃśīlināṃ yasmād garbhajanmādyaśeṣataḥ |
upamṛdnāti vidyeyaṃ tasmādupaniṣad bhavet || 35 ||
English translation of verse 1.35:
Since this knowledge (of the Self) destroys birth, etc., completely for those who have attained it, it is called Upaniṣad.
