The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.85; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा —
दम्भेन बाष्पाम्बु-झरस्य केशवं
वीक्ष्य द्रवच्-चित्तम् असुस्रुवत् तव ।
इत्य् उच्चकैर् धारयतो विचित्ततां
चित्रा न ते दारुक दारु-कल्पता ॥३.२.८५॥

yathā —
dambhena bāṣpāmbu-jharasya keśavaṃ
vīkṣya dravac-cittam asusruvat tava
|
ity uccakair dhārayato vicittatāṃ
citrā na te dāruka dāru-kalpatā
||3.2.85||

English translation

“O Dāruka! Seeing Kṛṣṇa your heart used to turn liquid on the pretext of your gushing tears. Now in separation from Kṛṣṇa, it is not astonishing that you, Dāruka, have become like a doll made out of wood (dārukalpatā) because of extreme loss of consciousness.”
