चामीकराभं वसनं वसानः शिखण्ड-चूडो हरिर् आबभासे ।
विभूष्यमाणः क्षण-रोचिर्-इन्द्रधनुर्-बलाकाभिर् इवाम्बुवाहः ॥
cāmīkarābhaṃ vasanaṃ vasānaḥ śikhaṇḍa-cūḍo harir ābabhāse |
vibhūṣyamāṇaḥ kṣaṇa-rocir-indradhanur-balākābhir ivāmbuvāhaḥ ||
Wearing a golden garment, Hari, whose crest is a peacock feather, was resplendent like a raincloud adorned with a lightning flash, a rainbow, and cranes. (Alaṅkāra-kaustubha 8.337)
atra tasya sa-balākatvātirekād adhika-padatā.
Here the superfluous word is the fact that the raincloud, the upamāna, has cranes.
