Text 4.71

(9) [This is an example of a kavi-kalpita-vaktṛ-prauḍhokti-siddha vastu-dhvani (implied idea effected from a bold assertion of a speaker invented by the poet) which suggests another vastu-dhvani:]

परिपुट्टे परिपुट्टं झीणे झीणं समम्मि समम् |
माहव तीए अङ्गं तुज्झ सिणेहेण घडिअं व ||

परिपुष्टे परिपुष्टं क्षीणे क्षीणं समे समम् |
माधव तस्या अङ्गं तव स्नेहेन घटितम् एव ||

paripuṭṭe paripuṭṭaṃ jhīṇe jhīṇaṃ samammi samam |
māhava tīe aṅgaṃ tujjha siṇeheṇa ghaḍiaṃ va || (Prakrit language)

paripuṣṭe paripuṣṭaṃ kṣīṇe kṣīṇaṃ same samam |
mādhava tasyā aṅgaṃ tava snehena ghaṭitam eva || (Sanskrit rendering)

paripuṣṭe—when [Your love for her] increases; paripuṣṭam—[her body is] expanded; kṣīṇe—when [Your love for her] decreases; kṣīṇam—[her body is] emaciated; same—when [Your love for her] is normal; samam—[her body is] normal; mādhava—O Mādhava; tasyāḥ—her; aṅgam—body; tava snehena—by Your love; ghaṭitam—is fashioned; eva—only.

[A messenger speaks to Kṛṣṇa:] O Mādhava, that girl’s body is only made of Your love for her: When Your love increases, her body becomes plump; when Your love decreases, her body becomes thin; and when Your love is as usual, her body stays normal. (Alaṅkārakaustubha 3.24)

atra sāyuṣā na jīvati, kintu tvat-snehenaiveti vastunā vastu.

Here this implied idea: “She lives by Your love, not by her life span,” suggests an idea (her body is supernormal, i.e. it has a distinct nature).
