Rig Veda 10.85.8

स्तोमा॑ आसन्प्रति॒धय॑: कु॒रीरं॒ छन्द॑ ओप॒शः । सू॒र्याया॑ अ॒श्विना॑ व॒राग्निरा॑सीत्पुरोग॒वः ॥
स्तोमा आसन्प्रतिधयः कुरीरं छन्द ओपशः । सूर्याया अश्विना वराग्निरासीत्पुरोगवः ॥
stomā āsan pratidhayaḥ kurīraṃ chanda opaśaḥ | sūryāyā aśvinā varāgnir āsīt purogavaḥ ||

English translation:

“Hymns were the cross-bars (of the car); the Kurīra metre was the thong of the whip; the Aśvins wereSūrya's groomsmen; Agni was the leader of the procession.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Thong of the whip: or tuft of hair; cf. go opaśa: RV6.53.9; Aśvins were Sūrya's groomsmen: Prajāpati Savitā had offered his daughter Sūrya to Soma: AitareyaBrāhmaṇa 4.7
