हिर॑ण्यकेशो॒ रज॑सो विसा॒रेऽहि॒र्धुनि॒र्वात॑ इव॒ ध्रजी॑मान् । शुचि॑भ्राजा उ॒षसो॒ नवे॑दा॒ यश॑स्वतीरप॒स्युवो॒ न स॒त्याः ॥
हिरण्यकेशो रजसो विसारेऽहिर्धुनिर्वात इव ध्रजीमान् । शुचिभ्राजा उषसो नवेदा यशस्वतीरपस्युवो न सत्याः ॥
hiraṇyakeśo rajaso visāre 'hir dhunir vāta iva dhrajīmān | śucibhrājā uṣaso navedā yaśasvatīr apasyuvo na satyāḥ ||
English translation:
“The golden-haired Agni is the agitator of the clouds when the rain is poured forth, and, moving with the swiftness of the wind, shines with a bright radiance. The mornings know not (of the showers, like honest (people), who, provided with food, are intent upon their own labours.”
