Treatment for fever (127): Chandranatha rasa

One eighth tola in weight each, of mercury, sulphur, the three alkalies (via. svarjikshara javakshara, and borax, combined in equal quantities), three salts (viz. rock salt, bira salt, and savvarchala salt, combined in equal quantitities), guggulu, and aconite are to be mixed together and subjected to bhavana, for seven times, with the juice of roots of black dhutura. The compound is then to be rubbed with the juice or decoction of each of the following, in succession, and made into pills one rakti in weight each:—gokshura, seeds of kutaja, marisa, karanja, roots of chitraka, latakasturi, bhumijhinti, triphala, and brihati. Two such pills are to be taken at a time, and the body of the patient is to be covered with a thick piece of cloth, after he takes the medicine. This medicine cures all sorts of fevers, very soon.
