Panchasayaka [sanskrit]

The Sanskrit text of the Panchasayaka, a Sanskrit text in five parts dealing the ancient Indian science of erotics (i.e., Kamashastra) from the 13th century. It was written by Jyotirishwar Thakur (also: Kavisekharacarya Jyotirisvara Thakura). Alternative titles: Pañcasāyaka (पञ्चसायक, Pancasayaka) Pañca-sāyaka (पञ्च-सायक, Pancha-sayaka).

अथ सुरतयोग्यस्थानसमुद्देशः ।
स्फूर्ज्जद्दीपशिखोज्ज्वले सुललिते रम्योन्नते विस्तरे धूपोद्गारमनोहरे कुसुमस्रग्दामोपशोभान्विते ।
वीणातालरवाकुले मनसिजप्रस्तावनानन्दिते सम्भोगः कुशलैः स्वकीयभवने कार्यो यथाकाङ्क्षया ॥ २८ ॥

atha suratayogyasthānasamuddeśaḥ |
sphūrjjaddīpaśikhojjvale sulalite ramyonnate vistare dhūpodgāramanohare kusumasragdāmopaśobhānvite |
vīṇātālaravākule manasijaprastāvanānandite sambhogaḥ kuśalaiḥ svakīyabhavane kāryo yathākāṅkṣayā || 28 ||

This is the purpose of the place worthy of pleasure. It was beautifully elevated, illuminated by the peaks of sparkling lamps, and was decorated with flowers, garlands and lace. Experts should enjoy sexual intercourse in their own homes, which are filled with the sound of the vīṇā-tāla and are delighted by the proposals of the mind.
