The Sanskrit text of the Panchasayaka, a Sanskrit text in five parts dealing the ancient Indian science of erotics (i.e., Kamashastra) from the 13th century. It was written by Jyotirishwar Thakur (also: Kavisekharacarya Jyotirisvara Thakura). Alternative titles: Pañcasāyaka (पञ्चसायक, Pancasayaka) Pañca-sāyaka (पञ्च-सायक, Pancha-sayaka).
Verse 3.88
अथ केशसंस्कारसमुद्देशः ।
तिलप्रसूनं सह गोक्षुरेण ससारघं गव्यघृतेन पिष्टम् ।
सप्ताहमात्रेण शिरःप्रलेपाद्भवन्ति दीर्घाः प्रचुराश्च केशाः ॥ ८८ ॥
atha keśasaṃskārasamuddeśaḥ |
tilaprasūnaṃ saha gokṣureṇa sasāraghaṃ gavyaghṛtena piṣṭam |
saptāhamātreṇa śiraḥpralepādbhavanti dīrghāḥ pracurāśca keśāḥ || 88 ||

This is the purpose of the hair ritual. Sesame seeds, flowers, cow’s milk, juice and cow’s milk are ground. Within a week of applying this ointment to the head the hair becomes long and abundant.
