Verse 2.58
Verse 2.58: “And when he (facile) like the tortoise withdrawing its limbs from every side, withdraws his senses from sense-objects, then may his Discernment be said to be perfectly-poised. (301)
Commentary called Jnaneshwari by Jnaneshwar:
Just as a tortoise in joyous mood spreads out or withdraws his limbs at his will and pleasure, even so the Yogi has full control over his senses and makes them act as he likes; such a one has, take it for certain, attained the state of Sthitaprajna.
