प्रणवं पूर्वम् उद्धृत्य
काम-बीजं ततह् परम्
कालिन्दी-भेदन-पदं
सङ्कर्षणम् अतह् परम्

praṇavaṃ pūrvam uddhṛtya
kāma-bījaṃ tatah param
kālindī-bhedana-padaṃ
saṅkarṣaṇam atah param

praṇavam—Oṃ; pūrvam—first; uddhṛtya—speaking; kāma-bījam—the Kama-bija syllable; tatah—then; param—after; kālindī-bhedana-padamthe breaker of the Yamunā; saṅkarṣaṇam—Lord Balarāma; atah param—then.

English translation of verse 8.10.17:

First, speak the syllable Oṃ. Then, speak the Kāma-bīja syllable (klīṃ). Then recite the names Kālindī-bhedana (the breaker of the Yamunā) and Saṅkarṣaṇa.
