The Garga-samhita Verse 5.21.12, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 21 (The Story of Shri Narada) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

एकदा नारदं प्राह
देवो ब्रह्मा प्रज-पतिः
प्रजाः सृज महा-बुद्धे
वृथा चङ्क्रमणं त्यज

ekadā nāradaṃ prāha
devo brahmā praja-patiḥ
prajāḥ sṛja mahā-buddhe
vṛthā caṅkramaṇaṃ tyaja

ekadāone day; nāradam—to nārada; prāha—said; devaḥthe demigod; brahmāBrahmā; praja-patiḥthe progenitor of the living entities; prajāḥchildren; sṛja—create; mahā-buddhe—O very intelligent one; vṛthāuseless; caṅkramaṇam—wandering; tyaja—abandon.

English translation of verse 5.21.12:

One day Lord Brahmā, the pregenitor of the living entities, said to Nārada, "O very intelligent one, please father many children. Give up this useless wandering."
