The Garga-samhita Verse 5.18.8, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 18 (Uddhava Hears the Gopis’ Words and Returns to Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

श्री-सत्त्व-वृत्तय ऊचुः
पूर्वं कष्ट-गतं भक्तं
ध्रुवं कायाधवं च वै
पश्चाद् ररक्ष कृपया
न पूर्वं दीन-वत्सलः

śrī-sattva-vṛttaya ūcuḥ
pūrvaṃ kaṣṭa-gataṃ bhaktaṃ
dhruvaṃ kāyādhavaṃ ca vai
paścād rarakṣa kṛpayā
na pūrvaṃ dīna-vatsalaḥ

śrī-sattva-vṛttaya ūcuḥ—the sattva-vṛtti-gopīs said; pūrvam—before; kaṣṭa-gatam—suffering; bhaktam—devotee; dhruvam—Dhruva; kāyādhavam—Prahlāda; ca—and; vai—indeed; paścātthen; rarakṣa—protected; kṛpayā—with mercy; na—not; pūrvam—before; dīna-vatsalaḥkind to the distressed.

English translation of verse 5.18.8:

The sattva-vṛtti-gopīs said: Although Kṛṣṇa, who is kind to the distressed, protected Dhruva and Prahlāda from many calamities, now He will not protect us..
