श्री-नारद उवाच
पप्रच्छ सु-स्मितो वैश्यान्
को-दण्ड-स्थानम् अच्युतः
न ते तम् ऊचुः सु-धियः
को-दण्डे भङ्ग-शङ्कया
śrī-nārada uvāca
papraccha su-smito vaiśyān
ko-daṇḍa-sthānam acyutaḥ
na te tam ūcuḥ su-dhiyaḥ
ko-daṇḍe bhaṅga-śaṅkayā
śrī-nārada uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; papraccha—asked; su-smitaḥ—smiling; vaiśyān—the vaiśyas; ko-daṇḍa—of the bow; sthānam—the place; acyutaḥ—Kṛṣṇa; na—not; te—they; tam—to Him; ūcuḥ—said; su-dhiyaḥ—intelligent; ko-daṇḍe—of the bow; bhaṅga—breaking; śaṅkayā—with the fear.
English translation of verse 5.6.24:
Śrī Nārada said: Sweetly smiling, the Lord asked where the great bow was kept.
Fearing the Lord would break it, the intelligent vaiśyas did not tell Him.
