वृत्रासुर-वधे पूर्वं
ब्रह्म-हत्या-प्रशान्तये
यज्ञं चकार नाकेशो
वाजिमेधं क्रतूत्तमम्

vṛtrāsura-vadhe pūrvaṃ
brahma-hatyā-praśāntaye
yajñaṃ cakāra nākeśo
vājimedhaṃ kratūttamam

vṛtrāsuraof Vṛtrāsura; vadhe—in the killing; pūrvam—previously; brahma-hatyā-praśāntaye—to become free of the sin of killing a brāhmaṇa; yajñam—a yajna; cakāradid; nākeśaḥ—Indra; vājimedham—vajimedha; kratūttamam—the best of yajnas.

English translation of verse 5.2.19:

When Vṛtrāsura was killed, to become free of the sin of killing a brāhmaṇa, Indra performed an aṣvamedha-yajña, the best of sacrifices.
