The Garga-samhita Verse 5.1.28, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 1 (Advice to Kamsa) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

कवीनां त्वं कविर् इव
गिरां गिष्पति-वद् भुवि
एतत् कार्यं च कर्तव्यं
त्वया दान-पते त्वरम्

kavīnāṃ tvaṃ kavir iva
girāṃ giṣpati-vad bhuvi
etat kāryaṃ ca kartavyaṃ
tvayā dāna-pate tvaram

kavīnām—of wise men; tvam—you; kaviḥthe wisest; iva—as if; girām—of words; giṣpati-vat—like Bṛhaspati; bhuvi—on the earth; etat—this; kāryam—mission; ca—and; kartavyam—should be done; tvayā—by you; dāna-pateO generous one; tvaram—at once.

English translation of verse 5.1.28:

You are the wisest of wise men. In this world you are eloquent like Bṛhaspati. O generous one, please execute this mission at once.
