यमुना मे चिरः पातु क्र्स्ना नेत्र-द्वयम् सदा च्यामा भ्रु-भग्ग-देचम् च नासिकाम् नाक-वासिनी
yamunā me ciraḥ pātu krsnā netra-dvayam sadā cyāmā bhru-bhagga-decam ca nāsikām nāka-vāsinī
yamunā—Yamunā; me—my; ciraḥ—head; pātu—may protect; krsnā—Krsnā; netra-dvayam—two eyes; sadā—always; cyāma—Syāmā; bhru-bhagga-decam—eyebrtows; ca—and; nāsikām—nose; nāka-vāsinī—she who lives in heaven.
English translation of verse 4.16.5:
May Yamunā always protect my head. May Krsnā always protect my eyes. May Syāmā always protect my eyebrows. May Nākavāsinī always protect my nose.
