The Garga-samhita Verse 4.16.5, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 16 (The Sri Yamuna Armor) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

यमुना मे चिरः पातु क्र्स्ना नेत्र-द्वयम् सदा च्यामा भ्रु-भग्ग-देचम् च नासिकाम् नाक-वासिनी

yamunā me ciraḥ pātu krsnā netra-dvayam sadā cyāmā bhru-bhagga-decam ca nāsikām nāka-vāsinī

yamunāYamunā; me—my; ciraḥhead; pātumay protect; krsnā—Krsnā; netra-dvayam—two eyes; sadāalways; cyāma—Syāmā; bhru-bhagga-decam—eyebrtows; ca—and; nāsikām—nose; nāka-vāsinīshe who lives in heaven.

English translation of verse 4.16.5:

May Yamunā always protect my head. May Krsnā always protect my eyes. May Syāmā always protect my eyebrows. May Nākavāsinī always protect my nose.
