शौरि-सन्तान-वार्तां यो
वाक्ति चेन् मथुरा-पुरे
तं दण्डयति कंसो ऽसौ
शौर्य्-अष्टम-शिशो रिपुः
śauri-santāna-vārtāṃ yo
vākti cen mathurā-pure
taṃ daṇḍayati kaṃso 'sau
śaury-aṣṭama-śiśo ripuḥ
śauri—of Vasudeva; santāna—the family; vārtām—the story; yaḥ—who; vākti—speaks; cet—if; mathurā-pure—in Mathura City; tam—him; daṇḍayati—punishes; kaṃsaḥ—Kaṃsa; asau—he; śaury-aṣṭama-śiśoḥ—of Vasudeva's eighth son; ripuḥ—the enemy.
English translation of verse 4.6.10:
If in Mathurā-purī someone speaks this story of Vasudeva's sons, then Kaṃsa, the sworn enemy of Vasudeva's eighth son, punishes him severely.
