The Garga-samhita Verse 4.1.35, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 1 (The Story of the Personified Vedas) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

इतः कथं गमिष्यामः
सन्देहो ऽयं महान् अभूत्
तद् विधेहि नमस् तुभ्यं
येन पन्था लघुर् भवेत्

itaḥ kathaṃ gamiṣyāmaḥ
sandeho 'yaṃ mahān abhūt
tad vidhehi namas tubhyaṃ
yena panthā laghur bhavet

itaḥ—then; katham—how?; gamiṣyāmaḥ—we will go; sandehaḥdoubt; ayamthis; mahāngreat; abhūt—was; tat—that; vidhehi—please give; namaḥ—obeisances; tubhyam—to you; yena—by which; panthā—the path; laghuḥ—easy; bhavet—will be.

English translation of verse 4.1.35:

How will we return? Now we are filled with doubt. We offer our respects to you. Please give us a way to cross the Yamunā.
