इतः कथं गमिष्यामः
सन्देहो ऽयं महान् अभूत्
तद् विधेहि नमस् तुभ्यं
येन पन्था लघुर् भवेत्
itaḥ kathaṃ gamiṣyāmaḥ
sandeho 'yaṃ mahān abhūt
tad vidhehi namas tubhyaṃ
yena panthā laghur bhavet
itaḥ—then; katham—how?; gamiṣyāmaḥ—we will go; sandehaḥ—doubt; ayam—this; mahān—great; abhūt—was; tat—that; vidhehi—please give; namaḥ—obeisances; tubhyam—to you; yena—by which; panthā—the path; laghuḥ—easy; bhavet—will be.
English translation of verse 4.1.35:
How will we return? Now we are filled with doubt. We offer our respects to you. Please give us a way to cross the Yamunā.
