The Garga-samhita Verse 4.1.22, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 4 of Chapter 1 (The Story of the Personified Vedas) of Canto 4 (madhurya-khanda).

यदि कृष्णो बाल-यतिः
सर्व-दोष-विवर्जितः
तर्हि नो देहि मार्गं वै
कालिन्दि सरितां वरे

yadi kṛṣṇo bāla-yatiḥ
sarva-doṣa-vivarjitaḥ
tarhi no dehi mārgaṃ vai
kālindi saritāṃ vare

yadi—if; kṛṣṇaḥKṛṣṇa; bāla-yatiḥa brahmacari; sarva-doṣa-vivarjitaḥcompletely faultless; tarhi—then; naḥ—to us; dehigive; mārgam—a path; vai—indeed; kālindiO Yamuna03; saritām—of rivers; vare—the best.

English translation of verse 4.1.22:

O Yamunā, O best of rivers, if Kṛṣṇa is a perfect and faultess brahmacārī, then please give us a path to cross you.
