तुलसी-विपिन-च्छाया
यत्र यत्र भवेच् छुभे
तत्र श्राद्धं प्रकर्तव्यं
पितृणां दत्तम् अक्षयम्
tulasī-vipina-cchāyā
yatra yatra bhavec chubhe
tatra śrāddhaṃ prakartavyaṃ
pitṛṇāṃ dattam akṣayam
tulasī—of Tulasī; vipina—of a forest; chāyā—the shade; yatra yatra—wherever; bhavec—may be; śubhe—auspicious; tatra—there; śrāddham—sraddha; prakartavyam—should be performed; pitṛṇām—to the pitas; dattam—offered; akṣayam—akṣaya.
English translation of verse 2.16.16:
Wherever is the beautiful shade of a Tulasī forest, there śrāddha should be offered. There akṣaya should be offered to the pitās.
