The Garga-samhita Verse 1.6.47, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 6 (Description of Kamsa’s Strength) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

प्राच्यां तु वङ्ग-देशेषु
दैत्यो ऽरिष्टो महा-वृषः
तेन सार्धं स युयुधे
गजेनापि गजो यथा

prācyāṃ tu vaṅga-deśeṣu
daityo 'riṣṭo mahā-vṛṣaḥ
tena sārdhaṃ sa yuyudhe
gajenāpi gajo yathā

prācyām—in the east; tu—also; vaṅga-deśeṣu—in Bengal; daityaḥa demon; ariṣṭaḥAriṣṭa; mahāgreat; vṛṣaḥ—bull; tena—him; sārdham—with; saḥ—he; yuyudhe—fought; gajena—with an elephant; api—also; gajaḥ—an elephant; yathā—as.

English translation of verse 1.6.47:

In the east a great bull-demon named Ariṣṭa fought with Kaṃsa as one elephant fights with another elephant.
