The Garga-samhita Verse 1.6.40, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 6 (Description of Kamsa’s Strength) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

ननाद तेन ब्रह्माण्डं
सप्त-लोकैर् बिलैः सह
विचेलुर् दिग्-गजास् तारा
ऽपतन् भू-खण्ड-मण्डलम्

nanāda tena brahmāṇḍaṃ
sapta-lokair bilaiḥ saha
vicelur dig-gajās tārā
'patan bhū-khaṇḍa-maṇḍalam

nanāda—sounded; tena—by that; brahmāṇḍam—the universe; sapta-lokaiḥ—with seven planetary systems; bilaiḥ—with the spaces between them; sahawith; viceluḥ—trembled; dik—of the directions; gajāḥthe elephants; tārāḥthe stars; apatan—fell; bhū-khaṇḍa-maṇḍalam—to the earth.

English translation of verse 1.6.40:

That sound echoed in the universe of seven planetary systems and outer space.

It made the elephants that support the directions tremble and it made the stars fall to the earth.
