तत्र कन्दर्प-लावण्याः
श्यामसुन्दर-विग्रहाः
द्वारि गन्तुं चाभ्युदिता
न्यषेधन् कृष्ण-पार्षदाः
tatra kandarpa-lāvaṇyāḥ
śyāmasundara-vigrahāḥ
dvāri gantuṃ cābhyuditā
nyaṣedhan kṛṣṇa-pārṣadāḥ
tatra—there; kandarpa—of Kāmadeva; lāvaṇyaḥ—handsomeness; śyāmasundara-vigrahaḥ—beautiful forms; dvāri—at the door; gantum—to go; ca—also; abhyuditāḥ—standing; nyaṣedhan—stayed; kṛṣṇa—of Lord Kṛṣṇa; pārṣadāḥ—the asssociates.
English translation of verse 1.2.20:
Their forms very beautiful, more beautiful than Kāmadeva himself, Śrī Kṛṣṇa's associates stood at the entrance.
