The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.8.88, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 88 of Antya-khanda chapter 8—“Mahaprabhu’s Water Sports in Narendra- sarovara”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 3.8.88:

ভক্ত-নাথ, ভক্ত-বশ, ভক্তের জীবন ভক্ত-গলা ধরি’ প্রভু করেন রোদন ॥ ৮৮ ॥

भक्त-नाथ, भक्त-वश, भक्तेर जीवन भक्त-गला धरि’ प्रभु करेन रोदन ॥ ८८ ॥

bhakta-nātha, bhakta-vaśa, bhaktera jīvana bhakta-galā dhari’ prabhu karena rodana || 88 ||

English translation:

(88) Lord Caitanya, who is the Lord of the devotees, who is controlled by the devotees, and who is the life of the devotees, cried as He embraced the devotees.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (8.3.28) it is stated:

prapanna-pālāya duranta-śaktaye kad-indriyāṇām anavāpya-vartmane

“You are the protector of the surrendered souls, and You possess unlimited energy, but You are unapproachable by those who are unable to control their senses.”

In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (10.9.19) it is stated:

evaṃ sandarśitā hy aṅga hariṇā bhṛtya-vaśyatā

sva-vaśenāpi kṛṣṇena yasyedaṃ seśvaraṃ vaśe

“O Mahārāja Parīkṣit, this entire universe, with its great, exalted demigods like Lord Śiva, Lord Brahmā, and Lord Indra, is under the control of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Yet the Supreme Lord has one transcendental attribute: He comes under the control of His devotees. This was now exhibited by Kṛṣṇa in this pastime.”
