The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.7.54, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 54 of Antya-khanda chapter 7—“Pastimes in Shri Gadadhara’s Garden”.

তাড, খাডু, বেত্র, বংশী, শিঙ্গা, ছান্দ-দডি ইহা ধরিলাঙ আমি মুনি-ধর্ম ছাডি’ ॥ ৫৪ ॥
ताड, खाडु, वेत्र, वंशी, शिङ्गा, छान्द-दडि इहा धरिलाङ आमि मुनि-धर्म छाडि’ ॥ ५४ ॥
tāḍa, khāḍu, vetra, vaṃśī, śiṅgā, chānda-daḍi ihā dharilāṅa āmi muni-dharma chāḍi’ || 54 ||
tada, khadu, vetra, vamsi, singa, chanda-dadi iha dharilana ami muni-dharma chadi’ (54)
English translation:
(54) “I gave up the duties of a mendicant and accepted bracelets, anklets, a stick, a flute, a buffalo horn, and a rope.
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
To nourish the variegated pastimes of the Supreme Lord, Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu accepted a daṇḍa. Yet Śrī Gaurasundara made Him give up that daṇḍa. He thus gave up the principles of an ascetic and accepted the necessary ingredients for serving Kṛṣṇa.
