The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.1.69, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 69 of Antya-khanda chapter 1—“Meeting Again at the House of Shri Advaita Acarya”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 3.1.69:

তথি-মধ্যে কেহ কেহ অত্যন্ত পামর তারা বলে,—“এত কেনে কান্দেন বিস্তর” ॥ ৬৯ ॥

तथि-मध्ये केह केह अत्यन्त पामर तारा बले,—“एत केने कान्देन विस्तर” ॥ ६९ ॥

tathi-madhye keha keha atyanta pāmara tārā bale,—“eta kene kāndena vistara” || 69 ||

tathi-madhye keha keha atyanta pamara tara bale,—“eta kene kandena vistara” (69)

English translation:

(69) Among them, there were a few most sinful people, who asked, “Why does He cry so much?”

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

The phrase tathi-madhye means “among them.”

According to the Medinī dictionary: pāmaraḥ khala-nīcayoḥ—“the word

pāmara refers to the cheaters and the wretched.”
