The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.2.170, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 170 of Adi-khanda chapter 2—“The Lord’s Appearance”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.2.170:

হযগ্রীব-রূপে কর বেদের উদ্ধার আদি-দৈত্য দুই মধু-কৈটভে সংহার ॥ ১৭০ ॥

हयग्रीव-रूपे कर वेदेर उद्धार आदि-दैत्य दुइ मधु-कैटभे संहार ॥ १७० ॥

hayagrīva-rūpe kara vedera uddhāra ādi-daitya dui madhu-kaiṭabhe saṃhāra || 170 ||

hayagriva-rupe kara vedera uddhara adi-daitya dui madhu-kaitabhe samhara (170)

English translation:

(170) “In the form of Hayagrīva, You saved the Vedas by killing the original demons, Madhu and Kaiṭabha.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

The Laghu-bhāgavatāmṛta (Pūrva 50) says: “Lord Hayagrīva appeared from the fire sacrifice performed by Brahmā. After killing the demons Madhu and Kaiṭabha, He returned the Vedas.”
