Source: Sutta: The Pali Text Society's Pali-English DictionaryYāvatatiyaka refers to: “as much as 3 times, ” name of the last 4 Saṅghādisesa offences, because before the punishment is inflicted warning must have been given 3 times: see passage of Vin. III, 186 under yāva t-ihaṃ.
Note: yāvatatiyaka is a Pali compound consisting of the words yāva and tatiyaka.
