vaḷaṇēṃ (वळणें).—v c (valana S) To turn; to move round or away from; to change the direction of. 2 To tend (sheep or cattle). 3 To form (esp. by twisting, platting, matting, wattling). 4 also vaḷatā karaṇēṃ or ghēṇēṃ To include and allow for (in reckoning up and settling an account) minor sums due from or to; thus paying or receiving the balance. vaḷatā dēṇēṃ To return or give back (money or a thing borrowed).
