Source: What is India: Epigraphia Indica volume XXXI (1955-56)Uriso is the name of an ancient city where was worshipped the god Bhuvaneśvara, as mentioned in the “Alarpur of Narasiṃha II” (1294 A. D.). Uriso is the same as Urisa, a village within the jurisdiction of the Jagatsingpur Police Station in the same District.
These copper plate (mentioning Uriso) were found while digging the foundation for a house in the village Alalpur. The grant was made by king Narasiṃha II in february 1294 A.D. It's object was to increase the king’s longevity, health, wealth and majesty.
