Source: archive.org: Syainika Sastra of Rudradeva with English Translation (art)Tvakcūrṇa (त्वक्चूर्ण) refers to the “powder of certain barks” (used in the treatment of Hawks), according to the Śyainika-śāstra: a Sanskrit treatise dealing with the divisions and benefits of Hunting and Hawking, written by Rājā Rudradeva (or Candradeva) in possibly the 13th century.—Accordingly, [while discussing the treatment of hawks]: “[...] If the disease is the effect of the morbid condition of the phlegm, powdered pepper is to be first administered as a snuff, and then meat mixed with the powdered bark of Morunga quilandina (śigru-tvakcūrṇa), is to be given. The drink should be warm water; musk may also be given to cure its symptoms. [...]”.
